Magnet News: Summer 2012

The end of the school year once again brought recognition to many Magnet students:

• • Ziyao Wang '12 was named a 2012 Presidential Scholar.

  • Blair teams won first, second, and third place at the Montgomery County Envirothon.

  • Sam Schweickhardt '12 was interviewed in the Gazette about her research and her softball career.

  • Sam Zbarsky '13 qualified for the 2012 United States Mathematical Olympiad Team.

  • Jessica Lu '12 won third place at JSHS and second place in Biochemistry at ISEF (pdf). She also received an internship with the YMCA of Greater Washington this summer as a student leader through the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.

  • Andy Zhang '12 was named the Gazette's Montgomery County Volleyball Player of the Year.

  • Brittany Cheng '13 was selected to participate in the Digital Workshop for the Washington Post Young Journalists Development Program.

  • Induja Maheswaran '12 was named the first recipient of the Haider Ali & Hosein STEM Scholarship.
