January 7, 2010: Jacob Hurwitz '10 won first place at the Greater Washington, DC Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. Sophia Deng '10 won third place.
January 13, 2010: Magnet seniors Michael Cohen, Pin-Jo Ko, Yifan Li, Haozhi Lin, Li Ma, Nils Molina, Kamal Ndousse, Rohan Puttagunta, Kristen Rosano, Ben Shaya, Conway Xu, and Xinyi Zhou were named semifinalists in the 2010 Intel Science Talent Search. http://silverchips.mbhs.edu/story/9810
January 14, 2010: Xinhong Qiu '10 won second place at the Annual High School Student Art Exhibit at the Johns Hopkins Montgomery County Campus for her work, "Death|Life." January 16, 2010: The Magnet team of Jacob Hurwitz '10, Anand Oza '10, Ben Shaya '10, Peter Qiao '10, and Scott Yu '10 won first place at the Maryland Science Bowl. A Magnet team also came in second place: Mario Choi '11, Charlie Pasternak '13, Myles Wagner '13, Sam Zbarsky '13, and Viju Ilangovan '13.
January 27, 2010: Yifan Li was named a Finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search for his project, Differentiation of Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells into Retinal Pigment Epithelium Cells in Culture. http://www.societyforscience.org/Page.aspx?pid=497
January 29, 2010: Tripti Soni '11 was elected Lieutenant Governor of District 17 of Key Club International. Key Club is an affiliate of Kiwanis Club International.
February 15, 2010: James Pinkerton '11, Gill Guo '11, David Kaufman '12, and Charles Yang '13 share the title of top scholastic team at the 2010 World Amateur Team Chess Tournament.

March 6, 2010: The Blair team of Jacob Hurwitz '10, Michael Cohen '10, Nils Molina '10, and Rohan Puttagunta '10 won second place at the University of Maryland High School Programming Contest.
