Magnet Foundation News: Winter 2012

The Foundation has totaled its finances for the past year, and is planning for 2012:

• • The Foundation collected $9,307.59 in donations in 2011

  • Approximately $9,400 was granted to support Magnet programs:

    • $1,000 to support the MagPi event for new freshmen

    • $3,400 to take two teams to the ACSL All-Star Competition

    • $3,000 to take the Montgomery County Math Team to ARML

    • $2,000 to buy equipment for the new Organic Chemistry class

  • The Foundation is looking for ways to raise larger sums of money to fund larger projects:

    • A new computer lab

    • Biology/Chemistry equipment

    • A permanent source of funding for the Montgomery County ARML team

  • An alumni survey will be sent out this spring in an effort to build a stronger alumni network
