At the end of the school year and over the summer, Magnet students and teachers have made headlines:
On June 1, 2016, Secretary of State John Kerry met with Blair's Science Bowl Team, Ocean Science Bowl Team, and other students to discuss the state of the world's oceans. (NBC News) (Montgomery Community Media) (YouTube)
The Science Bowl Team won the 2016 National Science Bowl. (WJLA) (Washington Post)
The Ocean Science Bowl Team won 8th place at the National Ocean Science Bowl.
Senior Cynthia Liu and Freshman Daniel Zhu qualified as members of the 2016 U.S. Physics Team, and participated in the training camp at the end of May. Nine other Magnet students were named semifinalists.
The Montgomery County ARML team finished in sixth place nationally at ARML 2016. (Art of Problem Solving)
Mr. Stein was awarded an Edyth May Sliffe Award for Distinguished Mathematics Teaching by the Mathematical Association of America.
