Blair students have done well in several recent competitions:

• Jason Youm was named an ISEF Finalist at the Montgomery County Science Fair (@MsBosseBlair)

• Blair's team won the Maryland Regional Science Bowl (montgomeryschoolsmd.org)

• Jonathan Fan and Angela Wu were named 2024 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars (moco360.media)

• Chaewoon Kyoung, Yunyi Ling, and Ivy Guo swept 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 2023 UMD Mathematics Competition (pdf)

• Ivy Guo won a Gold Medal in the 2023 Math Prize for Girls (artofproblemsolving.com)

• Several students won NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Awards (@NoraBurkhauser)

• The Robotics Team (Team 449) won two district events this season and competed at the 2024 FIRST Championship (@frcteam449)

Teacher News:

• David Stein was elected MCEA President and will lead Montgomery County's teacher union for the next two years (Silver Chips Online)

• Angelique Bosse won an Excellence in Science Education Award at the Montgomery Science Fair (@Scimontgomery)

• Renay Johnson will retire at the end of the year after 13 years as Blair's principal (Silver Chips Online)

• Mary Ann Dvorsky, who retired from Blair in 2014, passed away at the end of March. (Leesburg-News)
