At the fall meeting of the Magnet Foundation's Board of Directors, the following grants were considered for funding:
Chemistry Lab Equipment: $1,700
Replacement IR Spectrophotometer: up to $12,000
History Bowl Team buzzers: $250
Passion for Learning at Eastern Middle School: $2,000
As more lab equipment ages without MCPS funds for replacement, the Foundation is in need of more donations. Please make a contribution before the end of the year!
The Board discussed several additional issues at its meeting:
Hiring an executive director to help with administrative issues.
Final candidates for the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award have been identified.
MCPS has changed the selection process for elementary and middle school magnet programs, which has been reported in local and national press outlets:
